While DmC is a good looking game on Xbox 360, if you have a gaming machine it seems waiting for the PC version would be worth it. Check out another comparison sequence below. On our test system with an i7 975, 6 GB RAM and a 580 GTX we were getting near flawless performance on Ultra with all HD options enabled, though there were occasional hiccups during transitions between gameplay and cut-scenes. During close-ups in cut-scenes the differences between settings are more obvious. Even if you can only run DmC on Low settings, it can still look pretty good. If you look carefully at this gameplay screen you'll notice differences in detail along the ground as well as around the rivets and grates, but it's not like the differences are stunning. In terms of graphics settings, there are options to adjust resolution, toggle vertical sync, enable HD textures, HD antialiasing and HD shadows and four general quality settings: Low, Medium, High and Ultra.
Through Steam DmC also features cloud saving which should help minimize hassle if you tend to play PC games on multiple machines. Switching between input devices does not require a game restart, so if you're playing with a mouse and keyboard and find the fast action would be best controlled with a gamepad, you can plug in an Xbox 360 controller with the game running and it'll work. Play DmC is playable with either a mouse and keyboard or a gamepad and features customizable controls for both choices as well as in-game sliders for tweaking mouse sensitivity.
